Euromasters Regatta, Munich July 28th

Klaus Riekemann, 83, represented Minerva in an 8+ I -M composite and took gold in a scratch crew with rowers from Dart Totnes, Star, Broxbourne, Poplar, Quintin, Upper Thames and Wallingford.

With a time of 3:31.59, the UK boat beat the German runners-up by 4.48 seconds.

The weather in Munich was very mixed and Klaus’s final race, an H 8+, was cancelled, along with other races, because of predicted lightning strikes and stormy weather.
