Hereford, Nottingham and St Ives!

The final weekend of May saw Laura and Richard competing over 850m at Hereford. Winning in a straight final ‘easily’, the event was their final test before British Masters.

Nottingham however was a test more of staying afloat than racing for this lightweight double, who were hugely disappointed not to be able to execute the race plan they’d been building towards.

The following week provided an opportunity to lay those Nottingham ghosts to rest on the sprint course of St Ives (near Cambridge not Newquay). However the opposition were not only the host club’s Captain and Vice, they had also won Gold and bronze at the British masters while our two were floundering around. But St Ives was a different day and KB’s advice to ‘commit’ to the middle of the race saw Minerva beat our gracious hosts easily.

Also at Hereford were Minerva Senior Men 4s, an 8 and Senior Women’s double.
