Facilities

Minerva Bath rowing club moved to the current Newbridge site on the west side of Bath in 2006, occupying a field behind the Newbridge Park and Ride site. The new site not only offered improved rowing - the club had access to a much longer stretch of river which was less prone to flooding than our previous location - but the size of the new site also allowed a chance to develop the club.

Minerva's members built the main club boatshed on the far end of the site to allow for expansion. The club formed links with the University of Bath rowing club and together with them built a second boatshed to house the club's expanding fleet and the university boats. The new boatshed was finally named in 2010 after the current President and longstanding member, Arnold Cooke.

Since completion of the second boatshed the club has continued to improve its facilities; extending the landing stage to allow increased ease of access to the water and liaising with the local BANES council to secure funding for a concrete floor for both boatsheds.

Our current development plan is being renewed so the club can evaluate how it has performed over the last five years and set aims for the future. The committee is keen to progress the current facilities to incorporate a new clubhouse and they are currently trying to draw plans together.
