The club offers members of the local community
and surrounding areas the opportunity to pursue the sport of rowing at
all levels from recreational through to international standard
competition. Our club members are ambassadors for the sport rowing and
the city of Bath who represent their club and city at many rowing and
charitable events throughout the UK and overseas.
We are registered
with rowing’s national governing body, British Rowing, as a club which
offers inclusive participation in the sport. We have established strong
partnerships with community groups and charities and provide access to
club facilities to groups with special needs.
We have a thriving junior (age 13 to 18) section, and run regular
supervised training sessions at 1030 on Saturday and Sunday mornings
throughout the year. We also run midweek after school sessions
throughout British Summertime (April to September). If your child is
interested in rowing then please contact the Club President or Club
Captain.
Throughout the Spring/Summer we run a number of Learn to Row courses
which are specifically designed to introduce adult novices to the sport
of rowing. All aspects of rowing are covered, sculling, rowing,
training, ergo (Rowing Machine) technique. These courses are followed
up by regular beginners training sessions twice a week for the rest of
the summer.
If you are interested then go to the
Learn 2 Row page on
this website, look out for adverts in the local press or on the B&NES
Council Sports and Active Leisure website, or come down to the club on
Saturday or Sunday mornings.
